April A to Z Challenge: THEME REVEAL 2017

This year sped by real fast... its almost April already and time for the theme reveal!
In fact I missed the date (yes, I'm a bit late) and got to thinking about it and found that some things have changed. On the A2Z website, in my life... you know how it is. For a while, I thought I'd skip it this year... one should stop at three, they say and this is going to be my fourth consecutive one.
But then again, I thought, why not push myself a bit? 

So, after much thought, this year my theme is: DESSERTS.

I know. Some of you who know me may wonder.
As I often say, I am not a sweet person.
But since I am pushing it, why not just go an extra length and write on something OUTSIDE my comfort zone?
So there it is. Desserts.
Of course my blog comes with the usual disclaimer. I am not a food blogger or an expert. I just like tinkering about in the kitchen and my posts may carry recipes but will also be about memories and stories associated with the dishes.

Sounds odd?

Not at all.
Anyone who loves to read will know what I'm talking about. It's those people who we read about and who stayed with us after the book was over...

Have you ever had friends like these? Wished you knew a Magic Faraway Tree? Had Noddy in your life? Went sailing with Tom Sawyer?

Well I did.

So this April is for some of those magical people who filled my waking hours with excitement and teased my imagination. Long after I had turned the last page.

Ah, here we are... April is round the corner and just like last year, I have signed up for the April A to Z challenge. Only, this year, I have a theme!
And here it is:

"FOOD, GLORIOUS FOOD! "

Stop, wait, don't go away just yet, shaking your head thinking "Oh, just another food blog with boring recipes and all.." I am not a foodie and I do not lay claim to any expertise on the topic. Nor am I a food blogger. This theme talks of food, sure, but about my associations with them. That smell of freshly baked bread, that sour taste of tamarind... the diverse tastes and smells we grew up with.
Yes, you may find an occasional recipe too, and if any one wants any, just send a comment and I shall try to oblige, but I repeat this is not a food blog.
This is a celebration. Of food.
