The Godfather by Mario Puzo was one of those unputdownable books in my life. I devoured it whole. I saw the movie (which I also adore) much, much later. In my impressionable teens, it was the world I ever wanted: the secrecy, the faith, the strength, the protection of the mafia...

I remember (as a teenager) being shocked by the sex scenes in the book, LOL! Those movies (at least the first two) are works of genius.

Did enjoy the book; tried to get in to see the movie but was too young and the theater manager wouldn't let me and my friend in :)

Just visited your site. Clearly reminded me of this driving holiday we had in the US two years ago. Grand Canyon and all. Lovely. Shall share some benches with you later as right now I'm at fort worth, TX, a long way from home!
